Course requirements

 

Attendance, preparation, and participation are required.  The final grade will be based on the grade earned on the final exam and any quizzes.  Grades may be raised by up to one full grade for extraordinary contributions to class discussion.

 

Course overview and objectives

 

This course will explore judicial remedies that are available to enforce legal rights and to prevent and compensate for legal wrongs.  It will focus on the law of damages, restitution and injunctive relief.  It will also consider legal limits to private recovery for wrongs.

 

Readings

 

For the first class, please real pages 1-10.  Future assignments will be announced in class.

 

Office hours

 

I am at my office workdays during the day and you are welcome to come by without an appointment.  I am also happy to make appointments.

 

Exams and quizzes

 

There will be a closed book final exam on Wednesday, December 9 at 9:00 am.  Quizzes may be administered in class during the semester without advance notice.  Quizzes will count for no more than one-third of the final grade.
